I traveled to Lake Havasu city to meet up with my race family, KMG Racing. With a fresh new graphic wrap our Kommander Industries powered 1200 SXR was ready to rock and roll for my Amateur ski open motos. With a 7th place first moto finish followed by a hard driving 2nd moto with a 1st place finish put me in 3rd place over all in the world in my class! I also got on the line for Vintage 550 race class. I put up a strong fight to get the lead in the 1st moto when my brothers engine decided to stop working doing down the line for the 3rd lap which put an end to my vintage racing for the year. During the entire weekend I was in the WORX Racing Components booth representing the brand signing posters and selling my Gomer Bomb Floating sunglasses. I also supported young Brazilian rider David Prado by loading him my Matrix freeride ski to compete in Amateur freestyle. At the end of the weekend I got to enjoy Monday at body beach, riding all of the industries best built flat water skis. Especially one ski that set my sights for my 2014 choice of ski.. Thank you to all of my family, friends, and my Sponsors who have supported me all year. 2014 Sponsorship and plans TBA soon..

A week after my return from Grayland, I loaded up my Matrix and brother’s 550 and I drove down to the final local race of the season at Lake Perris, CA. This was an exciting event after burning up my brothers entire 550 exhaust system due to a clogged cooling restrictor jet, I was able to get it all back together with the help of a bunch of friends on site. A loose clamp popped off during the 1st 550 moto lap 2 while i was in 1st place. To maintain the lead I threw off the hood and finished the last 3 laps of the race to keep my lead and finish 1st! My Amatuer ski Open motos went a little more smooth motor wise thanks to KMG Racing finishing out 3rd overall. I also competed in freestyle and came out first! One of my busiest and most fun race days so far.
On my way up north to a stunt job in Calgary, Canada. I made a mission to drive up a little early to compete at the UWP/IJSBA national tour stop race in Sparks, NV. Thanks to Brian Edwards and the crew at Bullet Racing, I was able to race Amateur ski open on a full blown 1200 Bullet V2 Kawasaki SXR hull. I ended up racing myself in Vintage 550, and I also rode with Daniel Martin and Jace Forrest in Freestyle on my Matrix. An eventful weekend seeing lots of industry friends and leaving with top 3 position titles in all of my classes! Next stop, Canada!
One of my favorite races of the year.. since its so close ha! I turned up with my race family, KMG Racing. We had a rough 2 motos because of a sudden head o-ring leak. I ended up riding in the freestyle segment with guest Pro Freestyle rider Daniel Martin who managed to not kill me multiple times while barrel rolling his KDX1200 over me. To attempt to and do something as cool as that I took the Jettribe promo girl out for a hood ride 😉 overall it was a fun event.
My Impeller sponsor Impros puts on an event BBSD8 at the Twin palms resort in blythe on the river for all friends and family who want to enjoy. We camp out on the river, practice racing around a buoy track, and get some great prizes and gear from supporting industry sponsors during the raffle. Thank you for having me apart of it all Impros!
On the weekend of February 25th I drove out to Lake Havasu with my friend and fellow KMG Racing team member Kris Ingram. My team of riders for this race were Bobby Kerns, Todd “Sarge” Young and I on the KMG Racing “Pink Taco” 226 Kawasaki SXR. The Race was one of the most physically and mentally demanding races I have ever been apart of. This race really tests your mind and endurance to keep pushing though the 12 minute 10 mile long laps. We made it a little over half way through the race with consistent laps times before an engine cylinder base stud snapped, quickly leading to engine failure. The race was still super positive because we put down our tools after we learned the fate of our ski and helped pit our other riders to their victories. Congratulations goes out to KMG Team mates David Fekete, Luke Day, and David “Looter” Hardenburger for taking the 1st overall with record setting lap times aboard his #100 HydroSaki ski! KMG Racing also made a ton of noise being the 2012 Pit Crew of the year award for absolutely killing it in the pits which won the race.
I am brief about this write up because I will be writing a more detailed article about the Mark Hahn for the next issue of ProRider Magazine, so subscribe today! I have to thank KMG Racing for all of the support to have the opportunity to race their skis and to be welcomed into their race family/team.
KMG Racing was supported that weekend by the following sponsors:
